this is my friend Flick. She is fun to photograph because she’s basically an english rose but she holds herself like a fishmonger’s wife.
When she was younger her Dad tried to avoid saying ‘Fuck’ and instead tried to say the far more acceptable ‘Flip’. However, her dad couldn’t quite manage this transition so he used to always end up saying “fucklip”
So her nickname is Fucklip Flick.

Tokyo
is fucking insane.

It’s very child-like. Cartoons and Anime dominate everything. There is catchy music blasting from every speaker above every shop. On top of that there are bright neon lights and funny looking buildings everywhere. It looks as if a child was given a blank canvas and was told to draw ‘the perfect city’
My reasoning for this is because from what I understand Japansese people don’t really have a childhood, as youngsters they go to school six days a week for ten hours a day. This grueling process continues more or less until they are twenty-one.
The Japanese are finally allowed to live out their childhood in this crazy city, which is as close to Peter Pan’s neverland as you’ll ever get.

I love Roppongi but it reminds me of that line in Sin City

The ladies are the law here.
Beautiful and merciless.
If you've got the cash
and you play by the rules.
They'll make all your dreams come true.
But if you cross 'em. You're a corpse.

Hachiko
In 1924, Hidesaburō Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo, took in Hachikō, a golden brown Akita, as a pet. During his owner’s life, Hachikō greeted him at the end of each day at the nearby Shibuya Station. The pair continued their daily routine until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return. The professor had suffered from a cerebral hemorrhage and died, never returning to the train station where Hachikō was waiting. Every day for the next nine years the dog waited at Shibuya station.
