this is Bacchus and Ariadne
it was painted between the year 1520 - 1523 by the artist Titan. I saw it at the national today.
I generally get unsettled and intimidated by drinking a wine that’s older than myself so standing in front of a canvas that has seen thousands and thousands of years brush past made me feel very subdued and quiet.
